Over three days, Manitoba RCMP officers in Nisichawayasihk, Portage la Prairie and Swan River were kept busy executing search warrants at a number of residences.

On March 20, as part of a weapons investigation, Nelson House RCMP, with the assistance of the Manitoba RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), arrested a youth at a residence in the community without incident. Cocaine, an imitation firearm, and cash were all seized. The man is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) as well as the Criminal Code of Canada.

The next day in Portage la Prairie, as part of an ongoing investigation, officers executed a warrant for the arrest of 21-year-old Wyatt Martin-French on 5th Street Northeast in the community. While in the residence, officers observed drugs in plain view. Another warrant was obtained, and a variety of drugs, firearms, and cash were seized.

The following day, Swan River RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) and RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), executed a CDSA warrant on 4th Avenue in Bowsman. 40-year-old woman, Leslie Wieler, was arrested along with three others who were in the residence. Four children under the age of 12 were also present and were attended to by a family member. A variety of drugs, including methamphetamine, as well as cash and edged weapons were seized. All subjects were released on undertakings.

Over the course of these days, Manitoba RCMP officers seized over 250 grams of cocaine, numerous types of drugs, weapons, electronics and cash.
