| WTO To Hear Complaint |

A dispute panel was set up yesterday by the World Trade Organization to hear the Canadian and Mexican complaints against US Country Of Origin Labelling legislation.
The law requires US packers to notify customers of the country of origin of meat and other farm products. The cost associated with keeping the animals separate through the slaughter process has resulted in discounted prices for Canadian and Mexican animals. A ruling is expected by next fall. |
