Parents Excited About Deal With Alliance
Producers will see expanded marketing opportunities through the sale of Parent Seed Farms to Alliance Grain Traders.

Earlier this week, Regina-based Alliance Grain Traders Inc. announced the purchase of Parent seed for 10 million dollars.

Norbert Parent says they believe Alliance's international presence will expand marketing opportunities for producers.

Alliance has subsidiaries in the U.S., Australia and Turkey.

The Parent family will continue managing the company.

All the employees have also been told their jobs are secure.

Parent says there will be no major change in operations at their plants, however he says Alliance has acquired some land adjacent to the plant in St. Joseph, with the plan for future expansion.

The deal with Alliance includes two processing plants with over 50 thousand square feet of bagged storage, and 15 thousand metric tonnes of bulk storage.

The deal is worth 10 million dollars - 9 million in cash,  and 1 million in common shares.
