Portage School Board Goes Paperless

rsz_laptop_sm.jpgThe Portage School Board is taking a step towards the future, by going paperless.

Their last meeting featured every board member on a laptop, with one absent member taking part in the meeting via Skype from Arizona.

Superintendent Hazen Barrett says having Trustee Carol Chandler join virtually is a great step for the board. He notes sometimes other duties call you to different cities but it's great to know they can still attend meetings online.

Barrett calls it a sign of the times and with plenty of schools making the move to a paperless classroom, the board is pleased to follow suit.

He adds as everything becomes more dependant on technology, education is as well, depending on the spread of information through technology.
