Ringette Kicks Off
ringette1.jpg Ringette competition started yesterday at the 2010 PowerSmart Manitoba Winter Games in Portage.

Central Region opened with a 12-2 victory over Norman. Coordinator Andrea Mitchell is glad the sport has returned to the games after 12 years. She's excited to be back, noting these are the first tryouts for the Canada Winter Games.

One person who's also glad the sport is back is referee Carrie Blanchard because she'll stop officiating at the end of this season. She's pleased the game is enjoying something of a resurgence.
Action resumes today at Centennial Arena.
