Residents of St. Jean now now have their very own physician to take care of them.

Dr. Omid Torshizi has been hired by the Central Regional Health Authority to service the health needs of the community and surrounding area. Dr. Torshizi is from Mashad, Iran where he studied and practiced medicine for six years, before moving to Montreal in 2007 where he completed his Canadian medical exams.

He admits the pace of life in rural Manitoba is a little different from the big city. In addition to servicing St. Jean, Dr. Torshizi will also be a part of the physician on call rotation at the Morris General Hospital.
