David Meeches This is an important day for Long Plain First Nation. The community's marking Treaty Day with a host of activities all day. Chief David Meeches says it's an event that connects the community with its past. Meeches calls re-connecting with band members from far away a significant part of what Treaty Day is about. He points out it's more than a commemoration of the past -- with family activities all day, it's a springboard into this weekend's annual pow wow, which starts tomorrow. |
