Herman Prior Centre is a Senior Services 55+ Centre, and we invite and encourage younger people and non-members to participate in our activities. Membership is $25, and members enjoy reduced prices for some special events. Members and non-members pay $1 and $2 respectively for each activity in which they participate at the Prior Centre.

Be an Early Bird and purchase your membership before December 31 and you might win your membership fee back.

Brain Teaser: What do you call a ball that doesn’t bounce? Find the Answer in The Prior Centre Newsletter for December. It is now available at the front desk – please ask for a copy when you visit. The newsletter includes schedules of activities and menus for noon meals, as well as information from Service for Seniors. It also includes the answer to this month’s Brain Teaser. When you find the answer, email it to Hope at [email protected] for a chance to win a free noon meal (meals on Dec. 13 and 25 not included).

2016 Christmas Holiday Hours: The Prior Centre will be closed at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, and will remain closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 27. We will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 28th at 8:30 a.m.   We will be closed on January 2, 2017 in lieu of New Years Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 8:30 a.m.

PRIOR CENTRE GIFT SHOP: Drop in and browse through our Gift Shop. We have many unique items including handmade items from moccasins to baby clothes and many more choices of holiday gifts without the downtown crowds.

Friday, December 9th - Jam Session

Do you play a musical instrument, like to sing or just enjoy listening to music? This fun music group at the Prior Centre, is a great way to meet new people. Jam Session takes place on the 2nd Friday of each month, starting at 1:30 pm.

Tuesday, December 13th – Roast Beef Dinner

On the menu for the second Tuesday of each month is a roast beef dinner including potatoes, vegetables, biscuit, beverage and dessert – All for only $10.00 – Call before 11 a.m. to book your spot!

Friday, December 16th - December Birthday Party & Dance

Dance is free and starts at 1:30 pm, Cake and Ice Cream will be available for $2.00 per person. If you are a member and your birthday is in December, then your Cake and Ice Cream are FREE!

CHRISTMAS DAY – Sunday, December 25th – Christmas Day Dinner – Why cook at Home?

Doors open at 12:30 and dinner is served at 1:00. The menu is turkey and all the trimmings, beverage and dessert. Tickets are $15, children (6-12 years old) are $7.50, and under 6 are free. Tickets MUST be purchased by Monday, Dec. 19th. What a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a fresh hot meal with friends or family, with NO cooking and NO cleanup by you!! January 21st, 2017 - Herman Prior Centre Garage Sale - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anyone interested in booking a table, please sign-up with Hope at (204) 857-6951, from Monday to Friday 9 - 4.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES AT THE PRIOR CENTRE

Noon Meal Program - The Herman Prior Centre offers a full cooked meal at noon each weekday for $7.00, take out orders for $8.00. The meal includes coffee & dessert, and all ages are welcome. Call before 11:00 a.m. to reserve your meal. Monthly menu charts are available at the Prior Centre or call (204) 857-6951.

Herman Prior Centre Gift Shop - open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. For a unique gift, come and see the items for sale in our gift shop. We have items from moccasins to baby clothes and many more, handmade by local artisans.

Prior Centre Book Nook - open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. Books are $1 - $2, jigsaw puzzles are $1 - $10. Donations of books are always appreciated.

Scrabble - Join us for a game of Scrabble played every Monday at 10 a.m. - New players are always welcome.

HPC Medical Equipment Loan Service - We have donated wheelchairs, walkers, and other medical equipment available to rent. Call (204) 857-6951 for information.

Podiatrist Dr. Bellmont comes from Brandon to client appointments at the Prior Centre.

Beltone Hearing also comes to the Prior Centre a couple of times a month.
