All Herman Prior 55+ Centre members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting on Sunday, May 26th at 4:30 pm. This will be a good opportunity to obtain information on what has been accomplished over the past year. Mark this date on your calendar and plan to join us. Herman Prior Centre would like to thank all the Local Businesses, volunteers and general public that attend our First Accessory Fashion show on Wed, May 15th. It was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves, as a result we are hoping to have another in the future.
Summer day trips have been arranged. Some trips scheduled are to Rainbow Stage to see “The Buddy Holly Story” on Wed, June 19th and “Mary Poppins” on Tues, August 20th. To Clear Lake with a ride on the Martese Boat on Thursday, July 11th, and Folklorama to visit three pavilions; Pearl of the Orient Philippine, Spain Pavilion, and Spirit of Ukraine Pavilion on Tuesday, August 6th. There are still spots available for these trips, so if you are interested in coming with us, you may register at the front desk Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. For more information on these trips, call the Prior Centre at 204-857-6951. Remember that when you come with us, you don’t have to worry about driving to and from Winnipeg or finding a parking space.
The May Birthday Party at the Centre on Friday, May 31st from 1:30 – 3:30 pm and everyone is welcome. Al & Friends will be providing the music. Plan to join us for an afternoon of good times. If your birthday is in May, you will receive a corsage to wear for the party plus a free piece of birthday cake! Bring a friend and enjoy the afternoon.
The Prior Centre provides a hot noon meal daily Monday to Friday, at the Centre and anyone over 55 is welcome to attend. Each meal consists of meat, potatoes, gravy salad, vegetables, desert and tea/coffee. Advance registration is requested by calling the Centre at 204-857-6951 by 11 am the day you plan to attend.
Some games and activities are taking a break for the summer months. These activities/games include; Line Dancing is finished for the summer on Monday, May 27th and Aquasize is finished on Thursday, May 30th.
