Do you have questions about your financial security or planning for the future? A representative from the Portage Credit Union will be at the Herman Prior Centre on Thursday, July 31st at 11:00 am to talk about financial planning, security and scams, and substitute decision making. This is a FREE session, and complimentary refreshments will be served.
Need someone to talk to, or want to make some new friends? Join us at the Herman Prior Centre for “Table Talk”, at 1 pm every Thursday. All ages are welcome.
NOTE- The Herman Prior Centre will be closed Monday, August 4th for the Civic Holiday.
A trip to Lower Fort Garry is planned for Thursday, August 14th. We will leave Herman Prior Centre at 8:30 am and return about 4 pm. Enjoy a day touring the historical grounds, and a picnic lunch. There is some walking for this trip, but the bus can drop participants at the historical grounds and there will be a shuttle to the visitor’s centre.
Enjoy a fall supper with a twist! We will be going to the Gross Isle Fall Supper aboard the Prairie Dog Central train on Saturday, September 27th. Cost is $75.00 for members/$80 for non-members and includes bus to Winnipeg, train and supper. This trip books up fast, so be sure to reserve your seat by August 7th.
We are having a Summer Picnic Supper on August 17 that the Herman Prior Centre. Tickets are $13.00. Supper includes chicken, ham, potato salad, macaroni salad, veggie salad, buns and dessert.
There will be a trip to the Narcisse Snake Dens on September 16th. The cost is $35 for member and $40 for non-members, and includes lunch in Teulon. Call or drop by the Herman Prior Centre to sign up for any of these trips.
The Prior Centre has a computer room available for members and the public. You can use the computers for a drop-in fee of $2.00. We will also be offering computer classes for seniors in the fall. Call Haley at the Herman Prior for details.

The Herman Prior Book Nook is open Monday to Friday. Drop in to look for a novel, magazine or puzzle. We gratefully accept any donations of used books.
We are gearing up for the fall programming. If you have any suggestions for new programs, or are interested in leading a program, give us a call, drop in or send an email! We are currently seeking a volunteer to co-ordinate the Aquasize program.
If you are in need of a wheelchair, walker, cane or crutches for short term use, we have some available for rent. Give us a call for more details. We also gratefully accept donation of these items.
