Elvis is coming back for a Spring Gospel Concert!! Daylin James is the 2011 Canadian International Elvis Tribute artist and Gospel Grand Champion and will be back at the Prior Centre for Spring Gospel dinner concert on Sat, March 29th. Doors open and cocktails begin at 5 p.m., Dinner at 6 p.m. and Show starts at 7 p.m. Cost is $35.00 per person including a roast beef dinner. Advance tickets only, available at the Herman Prior Centre Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We are reserving whole tables of 8. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment as only a limited amount of tickets will be sold.
The Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Service is now available at the Centre for those who have difficulty completing their tax return. If you would like to use this service, just bring all your forms and information, plus last year’s tax return to the Centre. A volunteer will complete your return for you, and you will be called when it is ready to be picked up. A donation to the Herman Prior Centre is requested for this service, and a tax deductible receipt will be provided.
The Herman Prior Centre Spring Craft Sale and Flea Market is on Sat, March 1st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A lunch counter will be open during the day to provide coffee, snacks and lunches. There is an admission fee of $1.00 per person which will also enter you for the door prize. The Centre will have a bake table, used pocket books and jigsaw table and flea market table. A donation of items for the bake table or flea market table would be greatly appreciated. These may be brought to the Prior Centre any time during the week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
*Note: As we will be setting up for the Craft Sale on February 28, the Floor Curling and Floor Shuffleboard games have been cancelled that day and there will be no afternoon dance.
The next meeting of the Prior Relations Genealogy Group is on Wed, Feb 26 at 7 p.m. at the Prior Centre. If you would like to learn more about researching a family tree or where to locate information you are more than welcome to attend. The members of this group are all working on their family histories and can offer a lot of guidance to those having difficulty. The Prior Relations Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
The Prior Centre’s Creative Writing Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. This group is open to anyone that has a passion for writing or even if you are a beginner writer. This is a wonderful group.
