The Central Plains Female Capitals saw their season end in the Manitoba Female Midget AAA Hockey League Playoffs on Saturday afternoon.

The Westman Wildcats defeated the Female Capitals scoring in overtime by a final score of 4-3 to win the best of 5 series three games to one.  Despite out-shooting the Wildcats 30-17, the Female Capitals couldn't take the lead the entire game.

Female Capitals Head Coach Ferdi Nelissen says he feels his team outplayed the Wildcats in a losing effort adding they were controlling the game getting a lot of shots in the third period that resulted in two goals.  Coach Nelissen adds he would like to return to the team next season, as well as the rest of the coaching staff.  He says the team was on an incredible run since November playing a solid brand of hockey.

Nelissen adds the returning players will get feedback on what to improve on so they can play at the AAA level next year.  He says he can't say enough good things about the effort the girls put in at practice the past few months.  Coach says it's just an unfortunate way to end.

The Central Plains Female Capitals will be saying goodbye to five graduating players; Goaltender Jacey Schettler, and Forwards Alyson Vercaigne, Callan Harland, Maggie Girard and Kelsey Desilets.
