The female midget Capitals went 0-for-2 against Pembina Valley this weekend. They lost 5-0 Saturday night and finished the weekend with a 6-2 loss Sunday in the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League.

Central Plains trailed 5-0 in the third period but managed to add two powerplay goals late in the game to get themselves on the board. "I don't think they're a whole lot better than us," says head coach Ferdi Nelissen. "Out of their 11 goals this weekend, I thought they maybe earned one or two. Everything came off our turnovers, off our mistakes, and wasn't what we wanted to generate at all at the other end."

Chole Snaith and Amy Klippenstein scored the Caps' goals in the third. The game became quite physical toward the end, and with a third match scheduled against the Hawks in Morden Thursday night, Nelissen says they'll need to keep up their physical play.

"We have to be that physical (next game). We can't be a nice hockey team," admits Nelissen. "We have to be 100% all the time because our depth of talent isn't what is has been the last three years. We have to win as a team, and our practices this week will be high tempo and physical to keep us ready for Thursday."

The Caps and Hawks go Thursday night at 8.
