***UPDATE****

All high school sports around the region have been cancelled due to today's intense weather system that cancelled busses. We'll keep you posted on when the games will be made up.

Last Night

It was an exciting night of basketball around the region.

PCI's varsity basketball teams came away winners over Gordon Bell last night in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 Basketball in Portage.

The PCI Trojans won an overtime thriller 58-57 over the Panthers. Gage Foster led the way with 22 points and scored a desperation layup to tie the game and force overtime.

"I just keep calm. I know the intensity is high and everyone keeps it high, and I love that, but I just keep things really calm. Slow things down and keep my head in the right place."

Foster's free throw basket was the deciding point in overtime.

The Saints were in a gripping match of their own against the Panthers. They fell 50-46, in an exciting back and forth battle.

Both the varsity Saints and Trojans are back in action Monday when they host Elmwood.

The JV Trojans are on the hardwood tonight. They host St. John's after falling to Tec Voc earlier in the week. That game goes at 5 p.m. in PCI's East Gym.

MacGregor's varsity clubs were in Zone 7 high school basketball yesterday in Neepawa. The girls won 60-36, the boys won 68-45. Both varsity clubs are back in action January 19th in Carberry.

Westpark's varsity boys are on the road for Zone 4 high school basketball. They face Dufferin Christian at 6.
