PCI's varsity volleyball teams split their games in Portage la Prairie last night.

The Varsity Trojans were up 2 sets to none in their West Winnipeg Athletic Conference match against John Taylor when things started to go sour. PCI just couldn't keep up with the Pipers hitters and they fell 15-13 in the 5th and deciding set. Head Coach Trevor Shackleton says they got away from their attack and it cost them.

"We were looking for the perfect set and we started tipping. So when you play against a team and they hit and you tip, you're probably going to be on the wrong end of the deal."

The Saints only needed 3 sets to get the win over John Taylor. Both clubs are now off until next week after a busy couple of weeks of volleyball.

MacGregor had a couple of teams in Zone 7 volleyball last night. The JV boys won twice, knocking off both Neepawa and Carberry in straight sets. The JV girls also found success on the court. They won 3-sets-to-1 over Minnedosa.

There's a lot of high school volleyball tonight around the region.

The Westpark Royals' varsity boys and girls are on the road for Zone 4 volleyball. Both clubs visit St. Paul's, the girls are up first at 5:30 p.m. and the boys follow at 7.

In Zone 7 action, MacGregor's teams are busy tonight. The varsity girl's team is home to Erickson at 5 p.m. The JV girls also go at 5, but they're in Carberry. William Morton's varsity volleyball teams host Elton tonight with the girls kicking things off at 5 p.m. The boys get going at 7.
