Rachel Homan is the 2016 Canad Inns Women's Classic Champion.

Homan earned her way to the playoffs through the 'B' draw, after falling to China's Jie Mei in her opening match of the bonspiel. She then went undefeated through her next 5 matches to gain qualification for the playoffs.

Team Homan -- Homan as the skip, Emma Miskew third, Joanne Courtney second, and Lisa Weagle lead -- seemed to be in fine shape Monday morning for the playoffs, winning their quarterfinal match over Winnipeg's Shannon Birchard 7-2. In the semi's, Homan faced off against 'A' qualifier Anna Hasselborg and won 4-2 to head to the final. Her team's domination continued into the final match of the tournament where they knocked off Japan's Chiaki Matsumura 9-4 in 6 ends.

Homan gives her thoughts on their strong performance in the final.

Homan grabbed a big lead in the final after a 4 point third end and never looked back.

"It was a great game from my team. A lot of big shots and we capitalized on some of their mistakes. They were in it right to the end, a couple of good rolls and that, an inch or two here kind of was game."

Homan's no stranger to success at Canad Inns' events winning the Mixed Doubles competition for the last two years with partner John Morris. "It's awesome," says Homan when asked about her success at Canad Inns' events. "It's in a great facility, Canad Inns is amazing hosts and we're really thankful they're such a great supporter of curling. It really means a lot to us and the sport, so I'm happy to support such a great event."

Canad Inns' CEO Dan Lucier gives his thoughts on a busy month of exciting curling.

"October was a great month. All 3 events were fantastic events where we saw world class curling, and it was nice to see the Homan team win twice."
