PCI looked great on their home court last night in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference varsity volleyball.

Both the PCI Saints and Trojans varsity clubs were taking on the Oak Park Raiders. The Trojans got the win in 3 straight sets, 25-11, 25-16, and 25-10. Trojans' Grade 12 player Bailey McLeod says they're pretty excited about their hot start.

"Honestly we've got a pretty good high right now. We're all swinging pretty well, our passing is pretty good, and our setting is good as well."

The PCI Saints needed 4 sets to take down Raiders. They won 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 and fell 28-26 in the third set. Saints' Head Coach Derek Casper says they played a pretty good game, but their energy level was too low on the court. He says they've been working on their serves for a while, and it's starting to come together.

The Saints celebrate the final point of the night

"The reason why we were missing so many is we're trying to get the girls to serve more efficiently, but aggressive. They're trying to be aggressive and they just need to find that happy medium right now."

Saints' Grade 12 player Jill Jackson's thrilled to finally have some graduating players on the team.

"I'm really excited we have some Grade 12's finally on our team, and it's just the beginning of the season so we're just getting some rust out."
