The PCI Saints breezed their way to victory in Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey at the BDO Centre.

They squashed the Lorette Scorpions 15-nothing in 'B' Division action. One of the contributing factors was the Scorpions don't have a starting goalie, and rotate players throughout the season. The Saints' were led by Bailey Grantham, who had 6 points in the victory. Maddie Shwaluk had a hat trick, Chelsea Owens and Paige Shwaluk each had two goals as well. Head Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie says in a game where everything you throw on net goes in, it's more about getting systems down.

"We were really focusing on our own end and having proper positional play because there's still some girls that are pretty lost when it comes to positional play. We're not worried about the offensive, in 3 games we're firing how many shots, scoring however many goals, we need to teach them a little bit more movement and where to be positionally in our own zone."

Saints' goalie Morgan Klassen picked up the shutout with 7 saves. Clark-Gillespie says taking a night off against a weak team can hurt them down the line.

"You still want to go hard, but you want to be respectful. It's such a hard decision on what to do in games like that, do you keep shooting or do you move the puck around a lot. To me, that's a making a mockery of it when you're moving it around and play keep away. It was really tough because the girls were shooting and looking for rebounds, and they would just go in."

The Saints are in Fort Francis this weekend for a tournament.
