The Portage Terriers have revenge on their mind as they host Swan Valley tonight in MJHL hockey at the PCU Centre. They lost their last two matches in Swan Valley, and could really use two points tonight.

The Dogs are fresh off a win over OCN that jumped them into fourth place, just ahead of the Blizzard. "We just need to make sure we play with the same energy we played with the other night," says assistant coach Paul Harland. "We need to make sure we're forechecking hard, keeping our feet moving, and getting pucks to the net. If we do that we give ourselves a good chance at being successful."

Portage sits 27-13-1 right now in the standings to the Stampeders' 15-23-3. Harland says they've been doing alright as of lately, but still seem to have off nights.

"I think we still need to clean up some areas. We're working hard on our defensive zone coverage, and some night's it's good and others not so good, so we just need to bring the same intensity every night, and try to find a little more consistency."

Portage's powerplay has been firing as of late. They've scored six times on their last 21 attempts, good enough for just over 28 percent. Harland feels they've done a better job moving things around and capitalizing when they can.

"Instead of being stagnant (in the offensive zone) we're moving the puck around quick, which moves some of the penalty killers out of position so we can get pucks to the net. As long as we keep trying to get pucks to the net with traffic we'll continue to be successful."

The puck drops tonight at 7:30 at the PCU Centre.
