The federal riding of Portage-Lisgar has experienced an 8.4 percent increase in population over the past five years. That may be enough to prompt the Electoral Boundaries commission in Manitoba to make some adjustments to the riding's boundaries. MP Candice Hoeppner says it will be interesting to see what kind of conclustions the Commission comes up with. "At this point I don't know if there would be any changes," said Hoeppner. The population in Portage-Lisgar rose from 85,653 in 2006 to 92,863 in 2011. "I think even though there has been growth, from what I'm hearing, the boundaries will stay the same, but again, the process isn't complete and so it will be some time before we see any final decisions."
