A deadline connected to Bipole III public hearings is approaching.

The Clean Environment Commission is inviting applications for participants for meeting that will review the impact of the 1400 kilometre hydro line proposal. Bipole III has been a very divisive issue as critics suggest the choice of placing it on the province's west side is not environmentally or cost effective.  Details and application forms are available at  www.cecmanitoba.ca.

Portage la Prairie M.L.A. Ian Wishart says if you want to speak to the C.E.C. and have your views heard for consideration, you have to register.  As for where these hearings will be held, Wishart says the exact locations have yet to be decided on but that he hopes Portage receives consideration. He says the amount of local interest and registration could decide where the hearing is held.
