Soldiers from across Canada and the United States are gathering in Headingley Saturday March 17th as part of  the Annual 38 Canadian Brigade Military Skills Competition. Lieutenant Colonel Dave Fraser says the competition consists of troops testing their rifle shooting, marching and decision making capability. This competition has been running since 1938, with the winning squadron receiving the T. Eaton Cup.

Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario, Minnesota and Wisconsin will be represented in the event. Fraser notes that this is the first time soldiers from the United States will participate. The troops will be marching on public roads, carrying weapons and decked out in complete full fighting gear but it is all simply a test and there will be no live ammunition involved in any of the events.   The competition runs Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
