Manitoba Public Insurance wants to crack down on fraud and is asking for your help to do it.  Spokesperson Brian Smiley says March is Fraud Prevention Month. He says fraudulent claims come in several different shapes and forms, ranging from faking injuries or deliberately destroying or having your vehicle stolen. He says this problem is not just a "Winnipeg" issue, as M.P.I. has seen many examples of attempted fraud in the Central Plains and Portage la Prairie over the past couple years. He notes the fraudulent claims unit was able to save $9 million dollars for drivers in 2011. If you know of a case of fraud, you can contact the anonymous tip line at 1-877-985-8477.
