The Austin and District Community Club has received funding from the Commercial Community Kitchens Food Enterprise program. Board member Chad Bodnarchuk says after becoming aware of this grant program provided by the provincial government, they decided to apply. Bodnarchuk notes they wanted to provide the community with a facility where entrepreneurs can prepare food for resale, adding the grant application was specifically for a combi oven and a thirty-quart stand mixer. He says a combi oven uses a combination of steam and convection to cook food, adding it can quickly cook things such as prime rib or bake taco shells and pizzas for resale.

Chad BodnarchukBodnarchuk notes they're very grateful for the Commercial Community Kitchens program, which will allow the Austin club to be a better part of the community. He adds they're not only providing a hall but also a kitchen which supports people in the area and their livelihoods. Bodnarchuk says they received just over twenty thousand dollars from the program to be put toward the new equipment.
