Shortly after 11 this morning two separate collisions on the same stretch of the highway at the same time resulted in the closure of the Trans Canada Highway. Just past the Headingley scales, a 10 vehicle chain of crashes was the cause of the closure and Cpl. Miles Hiebert says there were no significant injuries. Fire and ambulance were dispatched to the scene and paramedics were on hand, but that seems to be the extent of it. Hiebert notes the highway has since been re-opened. He reminds motorists if there's blowing snow and the roads warm up, that causes a wet surface, which can freeze later in the evening, and caution is advised.
