Changes could be made is to how much money the Portage Regional Recreation Authority must set aside on an annual basis. The P.R.R.A  is asking Portage City Council to amend its capital allocation requirement from the current standard of 10% of its gross revenues to a minimum dollar amount of $45,000 dollars per year.

Councillor Diane Stasiuk says the change would create more financial certainty for the P.R.R.A and its reserves by ensuring a certain specific amount of capital is allocated each and every year to assist for ongoing planning and anticipated costs. The request could receive second and third reading from the city at its next council meeting at the end of the March.
