The Treherne Christmas Cheer Board is doing their part to see families in the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne don't go without a Christmas family dinner this season by providing hampers.

Co-coordinator Pat Sparling outlines their progress.

"We're planning to get hampers ready on Thursday afternoon this week. We figure there will be 12 or 15 hampers. We received a very generous donation from Green Valley Equipment this year which will help toward buying the goods that aren't donated. Between the Kinsmen and the United Church and the Chamber of Commerce, the rest of the costs are covered. And the Kinsmen make the deliveries."

Sparling notes they're accepting more requests from local residents, and notes the deadline for you to get yours in.

"They would have to do it before Thursday morning, or at least by noon on Thursday, because we're going to be packing them that afternoon. I've got 12 or 15 names here. And we cover the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne. I did put a note on Facebook a couple of weeks ago and have had a couple of calls because of that. That's sort of how we were spreading the word this year."
