Portage School Division takes historic step with women in top two positions
The Portage la Prairie School Division has a new Superintendent slated for the position following this school year. Superintendent Todd Cuddington will be filling the role until the end of June. Former Assistant Superintendent Pam Garnham has taken the role. The announcement was not made at Tuesday evening's board meeting, but word had been issued Thursday, April 25. Taking Garnham's former role as Assistant Superintendent is Rochelle Rands, former Director of Student Services. This is somewhat historical, seeing as there hasn't been a woman in the superintendency since the division was incorporated in 1959, and it is the first time women are in the top two positions of the division. Stay posted for interviews from Garnham and Rands.
