The family of Amanda Barber (Mandi) regretfully announce her passing on June 25, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Amanda was born in Neepawa where she attended elementary school.  She went to high school in Ottawa but graduated from Portage la Prairie in 1997.  She worked at various sales and waitressing jobs.  Amanda attended nursing at Assiniboine Community College in Winnipeg, graduating in 2006.  She worked as a nurse on various units at Portage & District General Hospital and Lions Prairie Manor.

Amanda was predeceased by her brother Edward James Dack, father Arthur Wagner, nephew Dack Montgomery Todd Hull, uncle Larry Todd, grandparents; John Norbert and Ethel Todd and her beloved cat Bree.

Amanda is survived by her mother Judith Tully and dad Robert Tully, sisters; Connie Dack (Gary Blakeburn), Pam (Lionel) Gunn, nieces; Keisha Gunn (Andrew Fehr) and Hanna Gunn (Shane Bradshaw)

Family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.

Mandi lived a complicated life. She wanted what we all desire, the love of family- she often talked of her childhood with such fond memories of visiting grandma and grandpa and family “on the farm”.

She wanted the love of a partner, she wanted a fulfilling job. She worked hard as a diligent capable nurse. She wanted joy, excitement, adventures - she loved the beach and travel. She adored her cat Bree. She cherished her mother, and they shared a special bond as only mother and daughter can.

There is a mystery to life.  We can question, what is life all about? But when we look beyond our past conditioning there is only “love”.

Our hope for Mandi is that she now has the sight to see how truly loved she really is.

Amanda’s family will celebrate her life privately.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 – McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB   R3E 0V9.
