The Manitoba Air Show at Southport last month realized a surplus of $60,000.00.... A $60,000.00 surplus was recorded by last month's Manitoba Air Show at Southport.

$48,000.00 of that is being shared by 17 volunteer organizations, with $18,000.00 going to the Community Foundation of Portage and District. That leaves $12,000.00, which Air Show Board Chair Barry Feller feels sets the stage for next year's show. He notes the Air Show's focus was based on community support, and the high level they saw makes the prospect of future shows very good.

Feller's extremely pleased with the Air Show's proceeds, because there was never a guarantee of any surplus funds.

Foundation President Ernie Schwaluk echoes that -- he never expected they'd see that kind of money. It'll go into the Foundation's permanent endowment.
