Although some fierce-looking clouds were spotted, no official tornados were actually sighted or verified.
Heavy rain fell for about 45 minutes and some streets in the area were flooded. Fast-moving clouds can still be seen around Portage and the constant rumble from the sky eased off as of 7 pm.
A severe thunderstorm warning is still in effect for much of the area and weather radar at 7pm shows the storm moving into the Winnipeg area.
At 7 pm, the storm was East of Portage and the rain had stopped.
