It's an investigation that the Lake Manitoba First Nation chief feels may leave a black mark on the RCMP.

Chief Robert Maytwayashing and the Lundar RCMP Detachment are looking into a case in which a first nation youth is alleged to have been a victim of excessive force by an RCMP officer.

Chief Maytwayashing notes the incident not only dealt with racial slurs.  He says according to eye-witnesses, the youth was arrested without any visible marks or bruises to his body, but the next day suffered several injuries.

Chief Maytwayashing calls the case ironic, as the youth's father was a constable in the community for over 20 years.

RCMP media liaison Sergeant Steve Colwell confirms the alleged assault, he's also looking into the June 11 incident.
