With six days of action in the books, many Manitobans have finished competing at the Canada Summer Games.

Team Manitoba’s softball team saw five members of the U19 Central Energy squad suit up this year. The team went 3-1 in the round robin but fell in their qualifying games to end up in sixth place. Abbi Conrad had ten hits, six runs, and eight RBIs in the tournament; Lexie Nelson had three hits and was able to cross home plate; Olivia Goderis finished with two hits, a run, and a pair of RBIs; and Rayna French ended with a run. Alexa Guilford represented the Energy on the mound and picked up two wins, struck out 14 batters, and gave up just five earned runs in over 17 innings of play.

Portage’s Kaylee Perry stopped every shot she faced to help Manitoba’s female lacrosse team earn a spot in the fifth-place game. However, they were unable to prevail and finish sixth.

Sanford product Blake Harris was a part of Manitoba’s mixed relay team for triathlon, which came in fifth in the event. Harris leaves the games with two sixth place results and a fifth.
