Now that summer is leafing and fall is here, the City of Portage la Prairie is bringing back the fall yard waste clean-up program.

The city defines yard waste as leaves, grass and garden waste, excluding any tree trimmings. If you have tree trimmings, then they must be bundled in four-foot sections and have a collections tag.

When placing your waste into bags, the city says that it must be under forty pounds and must be placed in refuse or compostable brown paper bags. There is no limit to how many bags you can put on the street as long as they are in these types of bags.

You can place these bags on the curb in front of your house on your regular pick-up day no later than 7:00 A.M. This program is going to run for six collection cycles and will come to an end the week of October 17th.
