It's the perfect time of year to explore the sky--that from Astronomer Scott Young of the Planetarium in Winnipeg.  Young says the combination of clear nights and the relatively low mosquito population makes this summer even better for viewing the sky.  As far as equipment is concerned Young says it's a lot easier to see the stars than most people think, noting a pair of binoculars will provide an excellent view.
Young adds the planet Jupiter is most visible at this time of year.  He recommends checking out the Planetarium's website for information on where to look when you're scanning the sky.
