The federal Tories have introduced a bill to repeal the Liberal Long Gun Registry.

Portage-Lisgar MP Brian Pallister stresses it hasn't served effective in preventing gun crimes, and has only inconvenienced law-abiding farmers and hunters. He calls it a billion dollar waste, as its exceeded its projected costs.

Pallister is confident Portage-Lisgar residents feel the registry needs to be dropped. He likes the fact the bill won't be voted on until fall, as it'll give Canadians a chance to form their own opinions and give feedback to MP's.
