The mayor of Macgregor says it's time to just be a citizen.

Darwin Crabbe is stepping down after 14 years on council, eleven of which were spent as mayor.

There's been several significant changes in the village he's proud to have been a part of, but highlights the resurrection of the community foundation.  Crabbe cites Communities in Bloom, a new library, and a new landfill as other accomplishments.

Crabbe says he'll be kept busy after the October elections, as he remains the superintendent of the Pine Creek School Division.

He advises the next mayor to maintain a neutral standpoint while handling pressing issues.
