We've officially hit nice weather! Crescent Lake's fountain in Portage la Prairie was turned on this afternoon (Thursday) just after 2:00 p.m.

Whether you like walking around the park and experiencing the beautiful scenery, using the roadway for jogging, or being with your family at the play structures, the fountain definitely adds to the atmosphere.

Lisa Williams was with her husband Ryan at the park.

"It's nice to have this ambiance," Williams says describing the fountain. "It's beautiful and it adds a nice touch to the park and the atmosphere."

She notes she comes to the park every now and then, noting it's nice to have this kind of place to sit and visit with friends outdoors and enjoy nature.

"There's a lot of wildlife around. So, you're still in the city, but you get the feel of nature."

She notes they relaxed in the afternoon and she gives a shoutout to a friend,  "#hahaCassie, this is for skipping off work."

Mayor Sharilyn Knox says, "I’m thrilled to see the Rotary Fountain back up and running. Our Island is the heart of our City, so adding to its beauty just makes it an even more magical place for our citizens and visitors."

The lights are set by a timer.
