Allegations of corruption have been made against Dakota Tipi First Nation, prompting them to participate in an audit. The audit is spearheaded by Indian and Northern Affairs. Chief Cornell Pashe says it seems to be the only way to satisfy the continuous allegations made against himself and his council. Pashe says the band made the decision to participate in the audit back in September of 2008. He says throughout his time as Chief, he's faced numerous allegations and participated in numerous audits to clear the band's name. Pashe adds, the allegations almost always come from the same source and in all audits performed to date, no signs of corruption or mis-spending have been found.
