The process has begun to release a credit card which could change how First Nations do their banking.

Pre-paid credit cards funded by social assistance money will be distributed in the Dakota Tipi First Nation September 22nd.

Yesterday, the president of First Peoples Financial -- Lee Price -- was at the reserve, explaining the administrative process.

He says the card has all the privileges of any other credit card.  Price adds the card will eliminate the inconveniences and costs associated with cashing government cheques.

Chief Cornell Pasche says the project has been cumbersome but he's starting to feel relief with a set release date.  Both he and Price are optimistic the cards will become a national trend.
