Portage-Lisgar MP Brian Pallister says laws governing the issue of dual citizenship are going to be reviewed.

The issue came to a head when the federal government ended up paying 85-million dollars evacuating dual citizens out of Lebanon.

Pallister says about 15-thousand Lebanese Canadians were rescued, half of whom have since returned to that country.

He adds a review of dual citizenship laws is long overdue, and feels citizenship shouldn't be available to anyone whom only lives here when it's convenient.

Pallister says allowing people to claim Canadian citizenship when they don't live here cheapens our citizenship.
