We're just days away from the start of the longest running country music festival in Canada... Dauphin's Countryfest!!

For those who have been before you become sort of an expert on how to create the ultimate Countryfest experience when it comes to music, entertainment, and how to be best prepared for anything when packing. Below you'll find some suggestions of what to do and what not to do in case it's your first time going, and even those experts mentioned earlier may learn a thing or two they didn't know about.

Obviously the most important thing to begin with is a ticket! Amazingly they're still available for this year, get yours now at http://countryfest.ca/ .

Next up you'll want to pack what you'll need to get you through four days of (hopefully) extremely sunny days with no electricity (unless you're one of the lucky ones with a generator).

 1. Food - This means anything for main meals, like supper, which the typical camping foods are key including hot dogs and hamburgers. Breakfast will quickly become the most sought after meal of the day and simple is key, I'm talking bacon, eggs & toast, it's something everyone loves and is quick and easy to cook. Chips, granola bars, snacks like these also come in handy throughout the day. If you're worried about food going bad, which can happen if you don't have a cooler, don't worry, as there are over a dozen great eateries at the top of the grand stands that have an eclectic mix of foods that are delicious.

 2. Water - Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots... of water, seriously. It gets hot and you'll be standing/sitting outside for the entire day and will become dehydrated if you don't have it with you. So don't be foolish, remember a few packs of water goes a long way.

 3. Camping - Tent, sleeping bag, pillow. Basically is what you'll need if you're rough necking it. Best to not take your best linens as if it does rain it'll get dirty in a hurry.

 4. Must Haves - Bug spray (there will be bugs, it's Manitoba) and also sun screen, doesn't matter if you're ultra-ginger or bronzed like a Greek god/goddess, it'll come in handy. Last year we learnt rain isn't always a good thing, so a rain poncho is a decent thing to have at the ready.

 5. Other Notables - Never been to Dauphin? Good news, they have a large selection of restaurants (dine-in & fast foods) as well as stores to buy groceries.

Other things to know:

- Construction on Highway 16 is crazy and will only get crazier with thousands of people from the area headed that way so if you're looking for smooth sailing avoid it at all costs.

- Is the weather gonna be nice? Looks pretty great as of right now, check out the current conditions and 5 day forecast here.

- Wear your Country 93 shirt/cowboy hat and you could win some cool prizes.

- Be on the lookout for Drew Lambert, host of We Love Our Summers, he'll be there and may have some awesome things for you to win.

- In case you want to do something during the day that's fun, the Dauphin Ag Fair is going on all weekend.

- Gates open officially Wednesday at 2 p.m. and stay open until 11 p.m.

- And finally one of the greatest things to help make your weekend the best it possibly could be, download the Dauphin's Countryfest app (available for iOS and Android) it is incredible. It will send you notifications for when your favorite artists are going on stage, has a list of all their food vendors, a camping map, a list of all the events taking place and much more.

That's it, everything you need to have the greatest weekend ever at the biggest party of the summer. Don't forget the 26th annual Dauphin's Countryfest kicks off Thursday with the Roadhammers and Doc Walker, with Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen & Miranda Lambert headlining the other three days. Have fun and hope to see you there.
