The long wait for the Portage Terriers is over.

The Terriers will play their first game since March 15th when they welcome the Virden Oil Capitals Saturday night.

While the Terriers dispatched the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in four straight, the Oil Caps needed six games to upset the fourth-seeded Selkirk Steelers.

"They have a good top couple of lines. They have real good scorers that can shoot from everywhere," says Reilly Funk. "Their power play, that's where they scored (almost) half of their goals in the first series, so I think if we can shut down their power play this series and really keep that maintained, I think we'll have a good chance."

The Terriers were slumping a bit at the end of the regular season, but found their stride in the first round.

"We were struggling before we came into that series, and finally started getting rolling," says Funk. "If we can keep that momentum, I think we should be good. With these guys, it's going to be a special teams series. We know that because we've had them six times and it's been good games every time."

The Terriers won the season series four games to two.

Game one of this second round series goes at 7:30 p.m.
