The Goldeyes, fresh off their weekend in Fargo where they took two of three from the Red Hawks were hosting their West Division rivals, the Edmonton Cracker Cats.

The Fish opened the scoring in the first, with two gone Jimmy Hurst hit his eighth home run of the year. Winnipeg added to their lead in the seventh when Aaron Mendoza and Corey Stang hit consecutive doubles to bring in one.

In the top of the ninth the Cats clawed their way back into the game scoring a couple to tie the game and set the stage for Matt Mann's heroics. The outfielder took a 1-1 offering deep to right and put the game away. The opposite field home run marks his fourth of the year and the Fish win 3-2.

It was a windy evening last night at CanWest Global Park which may have assisted on the homeruns, but even so Goldeyes Coach, Steve Maddock, says that both Hurst and Mann are so strong that their long balls would have gone anyway had it been a calm atmosphere in Winnipeg yesterday.

With the win the Goldeyes' season record now improves to 21-15, as they get set to face Edmonton again tonight.
