The Herman Prior Activity Centre is cancelling one of its most sought after events.

The annual Christmas Craft Sale was slated to take place on November 6 but has since been postponed.

The Activity Centre would have been set up to offer social distancing, proper capacity, and enhanced guidelines. Executive Director Chris Dumont explains why they're pumping the breaks.

"That had to get changed now that we've gone to Code Orange, and you're only allowed five people in at a time in any common area. We had 22 vendors, that right there is exceeding the limitations. So, if anybody is interested in buying any of the things that the vendors have, they can call me, then I can give the vendors their numbers, and I could let them know which vendors are selling which kind of things."

Dumont adds she's optimistic about rescheduling the event.

"We will possibly try to do it in December. So much of it is the uncertainty right now with Code Orange. Is it only going to be two weeks, or is it going to be longer than that?"

The Activity Centre was going to use the Craft Sale as a way to announce the winners of its Christmas Cash Raffle. The draw will be done via Facebook Live on November 7, and only 29 tickets remain. For more information, call 204-857-6951.
