Toronto Blue Jays' skid continued yesterday. Meanwhile, the NHL's Buffalo Sabres lost a couple of key players.

In Major League Baseball, Toronto Blue Jays have lost four in a row in their western road swing, after dropping a 2-1 decision to Seattle. The Jays are in Oakland today, hoping to reverse that trend.

At the under-20 World Cup of soccer, Chile thumped Canada 3-0 yesterday. The Canadians are off until Thursday, when they take on Austria.

Yesterday was the first day of free agency season in the NHL, and Buffalo Sabres took it on the chin. Daniel Briere signed with Philadelphia, while Chris Drury has moved on to New York Rangers, who also scooped up Scott Gomez from New Jersey.
Meanwhile, Ryan Smyth's stay on Long Island was short. He was signed by Colorado Avalanche. The Islanders also lost forward Jason Blake to Toronto.
Other signings saw Paul Kariya go to St. Louis, Brian Rafalski signed with Detroit, and Mathieu Schneider is headed to Anaheim.

In golf, Cristie Kerr won the US Women's Open. She came from behind to top Lorena Ochoa and Angela Park by two strokes. It's her first win at a major.
On the PGA tour, Brian Bateman scored his first win ever, taking the Buick Open.

It's back to business today at Wimbledon. In women's play, top seed Justine Henin is in action. So is Serena Williams.
