Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice and Kyle Connor potted his 30th goal of the season as the Winnipeg Jets downed New Jersey 6-1 Sunday night at Canada Life Centre.

Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and an assist while Blake Wheeler had a pair of helpers for the Jets who have won back-to-back games for just the third time in a little over four weeks.

Winnipeg opened its five-game homestand with a 6-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Friday night.

Morgan Barron netted his 8th of the season on a penalty shot 2:42 into the second period which extended the Jets lead to 3-0.

Nino Niederreiter had the other Winnipeg goal.

Nico Hischier scored on the power play with 14 seconds left to spoil Connor Hellebuyck's shutout bid. 

Hellebuyck finished the night with 31 saves.

The Jets (43-31-3) remain two points ahead of Calgary for the second wildcard in the NHL's Western Conference and both teams have five games remaining. 

The Flames edged the Anaheim Ducks 5-4 Sunday. 

Winnipeg hosts Calgary Wednesday night.
