Lillian May Olson

 

            It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lillian May Olson on December 4, 2021.

Lillian passed sudden and unexpectedly with family by her side at Portage District Hospital at the age of 83.

            Lillian was born July 4, 1938 at the Portage Hospital to Henry and Sadie Gibbings. Lillian and her brother Donald were raised on the family farm and attended the North Lakeland School, she then started her adult life living and working in Winnipeg.

            Lillian married Connell Olson December 15, 1962 and started their life together in Morris, MB. In 1963 they moved home and began life on the farm in Langruth.

Lillian enjoyed the farm life and gardening became her passion, she also looked forward to her days spent at the lake with family and friends. Lillian also worked off the farm as a bartender for many years in both Langruth and Amaranth.

            After retiring from the farm she spent her last years in Portage at Regency Place where she spent her days with old and new friends.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Connell; daughter Wanda; brother Donald and her mother Sadie and father Henry.

            Lillian will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters Anita (Kenny) and Janet; seven grandchildren James (Belinda), Melissa, Brandon (Corbyn), Kellie, Cheyenne (Austin). Kaylee and Shaelyn. As well as five great grandchildren Brett and Saddie, Tucker, Serenity and Nevaeh.

            Lillian will be missed and many memories cherished by sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews as well as many friends and family.

           Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 2pm, at Langruth Cemetery, Langruth, Manitoba.

            In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
