The Canada Summer Games are underway in Niagara, Ontario, and many athletes from the Central Plains region have already begun competing.

Manitoba's Female Box Lacrosse team has two representatives from the region in Hunter Marsibil and Kaylee Perry. These two have helped guide the squad to a 3-0 record. Perry has started between the pipes for all three contests, and has made a total of 75 saves on 80 shots. Team Manitoba will be back on the court today at 4:00 to take on New Brunswick.

Portage's own Soren Weselake finished in tenth place in his first of three cycling races to take place at the games. The local finished the male cross-country mountain bike six minutes out of first place with a time of 1:10:55. He will be back in action tomorrow for the mountain bike relay.

Sanford's Blake Harris finished in sixth place in the male triathlon sprint yesterday with a time of 59:36. He will be competing once again on Thursday in the supersprint event.

Manitoba's baseball team is currently 1-2 in the round-robin play. The team took game number one handily, winning 10-0 but fell 9-7 and 11-0 in the following outings. Local Hayden Faragher spent some time on the mound in game two.
