A member of Eastbound and Down says opening for a legendary band during today's Potato Festival in Portage is a significant stepping stone.

That's why Travis Rintoul isn't intimidated to be playing with The Stampeders.  He and his group are instead excited about the opportunity, and look forward to the added exposure.

While high-calibre names might push an opening band to change its approach, that isn't the case for Eastbound and Down.  Rintoul stresses his band always puts their best foot forward.

Meanwhile Portage is adding to the career highlight of one of the Stampeders members.  Rich Dodson explains travelling the country is what sticks out when he reflects on his career.

He's surprised there's still a demand for a group that's been around so many years.
