Portage Legion Branch #65 is holding its annual general meeting on December 14th, after having cancelled all elections and similar meetings last year.

President Bob Oldford explains officers will be elected including some incoming executive members.

"It'll be a review, of course, of, unfortunately, the last two years, seeing as we couldn't have one last year with COVID," says Oldford. "But there are still regulations that are involved with our meeting. You must be a member of the Legion, a valid paid member of the Legion, and you have to be fully vaccinated and show your proof of ID at the door to get in."

He notes everything was cancelled last year until it would be safer to hold such a meeting.

"We'll be electing for the 1st Vice President, the secretary-treasurer, and some members to the board," continues Oldford. "We more than welcome volunteers. All they need to do is either contact me or someone at the Legion, and we'd be more than happy to take their names, numbers, and find out where their interests may lie, and work from there."
