The MacGregor Fire Department was dispatched shortly before 10 a.m. today to a single-vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway just east of the community. High winds mixed with icy/slushy conditions were factors in the accident. No injuries were reported and traffic is moving in the area once again.

Similar conditions continue this afternoon so extra caution is encouraged. Some highways that were closed earlier today have re-opened.

Some of the main highways that are still closed include:

Highway 1 from Highway 21 at Griswold to the Saskatchewan Border (west of Brandon)

Highway 2 from Highway 21 to the Saskatchewan Border

Highway 10 in Riding Mountain National Park through to Dauphin and Cowan
