Portage will have a new mayor after the October municipal election. 

Mayor Ian MacKenzie's announced he won't seek that post again in October, however he will run for a seat on council.  MacKenzie also endures Ken Brennan's bid for the mayor's job. 

 

That brings the total number of council hopefuls to ten -- only incumbent councilor Earl Porter hasn't made his intentions known yet.
